Job Description: Manger – QS (Quantity Survey)
Position Overview:
The Manager of Quantity Survey oversees the quantity surveying department within the company, responsible for managing and controlling costs, budgets, and financial aspects of construction projects. This role involves leading a team of quantity surveyors, providing strategic guidance, and ensuring the effective management of project finances.
Key Responsibilities:
01. Cost Estimation: Lead the preparation of accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and other resources, based on project specifications, drawings, and bill of quantities.
02. Budget Management: Develop and monitor project budgets throughout the project lifecycle, tracking costs, expenditures, and variances, and implementing cost control measures to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
03. Tendering and Procurement: Oversee the tendering process, including the preparation of tender documents, evaluation of bids, negotiation of contracts, and selection of subcontractors and suppliers, to obtain competitive pricing and favorable terms.
04. Value Engineering: Collaborate with project teams to identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving measures without compromising quality, functionality, or safety, optimizing project outcomes and maximizing value for the client.
05. Financial Reporting: Prepare regular financial reports, forecasts, and cost-to-complete analyses for management and clients, providing insights into project performance, profitability, and potential risks or opportunities.
Variation and Change Management: Manage variations and change orders throughout the project lifecycle, assessing the impact on costs, schedules, and contractual obligations, and negotiating equitable adjustments with stakeholders.

Qualifications:
01. Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field. Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., MRICS, PQS) is preferred.
02. 10+ years of experience in quantity surveying, cost management, and contract administration, with a proven track record of managing construction projects.
03. Strong knowledge of quantity surveying principles, cost estimation techniques, and construction contracts.
04. Proficiency in quantity surveying software (e.g., CostX, Bluebeam, Autodesk Quantity Takeoff) and Microsoft Excel.
05. Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
Ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team of quantity surveyors and cost engineers.
