Job Position: Assistant Manager/ Manager -Electrical Engineer
Position Overview:
The Electrical Engineer in the MEP department is responsible for the design, coordination, and implementation of electrical systems in construction projects. Working closely with architects, mechanical engineers, and other stakeholders, the Electrical Engineer ensures the effective integration of electrical systems with building infrastructure to meet project requirements and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
01. Electrical Design: Develop detailed electrical design drawings, specifications, and calculations for power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, communication, and other electrical systems, based on project requirements, codes, and standards.
02. Coordination: Coordinate electrical design activities with architects, mechanical engineers, and other disciplines to ensure the seamless integration of electrical systems with building layout, structure, and other MEP systems.
03. Code Compliance: Ensure that electrical designs comply with applicable building codes, regulations, and industry standards, and obtain necessary permits and approvals.
04. Equipment Selection: Select appropriate electrical equipment, fixtures, and components, including switchgear, transformers, circuit breakers, lighting fixtures, and wiring, based on project requirements, energy efficiency goals, and budget constraints.
05. Load Calculations: Perform electrical load calculations to determine the capacity and distribution of electrical power within buildings, ensuring that systems are properly sized and balanced to meet demand and safety requirements.
06. Technical Support: Provide technical support and guidance to project teams, contractors, and vendors on electrical design, installation, testing, and commissioning activities, resolving technical issues and ensuring compliance with design specifications.
07. Quality Assurance: Conduct quality assurance reviews of electrical design documents, drawings, and specifications to verify accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements and standards.
08. Construction Administration: Assist in the review of shop drawings, submittals, and requests for information (RFIs) related to electrical systems and participate in site inspections and meetings to monitor construction progress and address field issues.
09. Value Engineering: Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving measures for electrical systems, proposing alternative solutions or design modifications to optimize project outcomes while controlling costs.
10. Documentation: Prepare and maintain accurate records of electrical design documents, revisions, and correspondence, ensuring proper documentation of project history, changes, and as-built conditions.
