The American Center of the US Embassy in Dhaka has announced Fulbright Foreign Student Program scholarships for international students.

The American Center of the United States Embassy in Dhaka has announced the Fulbright Foreign Student Program 2024-25 session for international students. Under this scholarship, graduating students and young professionals will get an opportunity to pursue their master’s degree in the USA completely free of cost. The application deadline is June 1.

Junior faculty members currently working in higher education institutions of Bangladesh, junior to mid-level officers working in government and private research institutes, intellectual organizations and NGOs will be given priority for this scholarship.

Fulbright scholarships will be awarded for degrees in university administration and curriculum development, health and medical sciences, biological and physical sciences, social sciences, humanities, business, economics, public policy, environmental sciences, urban planning, the arts, psychology and security studies.

Under the Fulbright Foreign Student Program, nearly 4,000 students from 155 countries around the world get the opportunity to get master’s and PhD degrees in the best universities and educational institutions of the United States every year.

Eligibility of Application

  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree of minimum four years duration with meritorious results from a recognized public or private university of Bangladesh.
  • Has not previously obtained a degree from an American university or is currently enrolled in an educational program in the United States.
  • Have not previously obtained a master’s degree from any country other than Bangladesh (but those who have obtained a master’s degree from Bangladesh will be considered eligible).
  • Must have minimum two years of full time work experience in the field relevant/ related to the subject of study.
  • Must be fluent and proficient in English. Must have a minimum score of 90 in TOEFL IBT or a minimum score of 7 in IELTS.
  • Must be in good health.
  • Must be a Bangladeshi citizen residing in Bangladesh at the time of application.

Required Documents

  • Online application form to be filled.
  • Academic transcripts and certificates.
  • Three letters of recommendation.
  • Academic Record – Information Form (available on the online application site).
  • TOEFL/ IELTS score
  • A competitive GRE or GMAT score is also required for admission to graduate degree programs in the United States. If an applicant has already taken the GRE or GMAT exam, then they need to submit the score obtained in that exam along with the online application.
