Learn about the top five scholarships in Italy

1. Italian Government Scholarship

The Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAECI) offers these scholarships to international students for Masters and PhD programs. The scholarships include full tuition fee waiver, a monthly allowance of 900 euros, health insurance and, in some cases, travel expenses.

2. Arturo Fallaci PhD Fellowship

The Arturo Fallaci PhD Fellowship is a fully funded fellowship for international students. It is awarded by the ICGEB (International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology). It is for a period of 3 years, extendable for a further 1 year in some cases. The fellowship includes a stipend, health insurance and other benefits.

3. Bocconi University Scholarship

Bocconi University scholarships are available to foreign students who have completed their undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. In addition to housing and tuition fees, undergraduate students receive 12,000 euros per year and postgraduate students receive 13,000 euros. In many cases, the university also provides housing, which is an additional benefit for international students.

There is no separate application for this scholarship. The student’s academic performance, leadership qualities, and international standards are taken into consideration during the admission and application process. 

4. Bologna University Scholarship

The Bologna University Scholarships fully fund foreign students pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. The scholarship provides a stipend of 11,000 euros per year, including tuition fees.

5. Scuola Normal Superior Scholarship

The country offers 75 PhD scholarships for four years in the Scuola Normale Superiore Scholarship. This scholarship is for domestic and foreign students. Under this scholarship, students will receive tuition fees and accommodation. In addition, students can also receive additional money to conduct research work.
