The Obama Foundation Scholars Program has begun accepting applications for scholarships for international students for the 2025-26 academic year. Through this one-year program, students from Bangladesh and other countries around the world will have the opportunity to study at Columbia University in the United States. The application deadline is December 16, 2024.
The Obama Foundation Scholars Program helps students identify innovative solutions to complex global problems and develop the skills and abilities to promote change through values-based leadership. In addition, specific courses will be taught throughout the academic year to strengthen leadership development, training, and networking activities. Through this, students will gain skills and experience that will broaden their career horizons.
Facilities—
Will pay full tuition fees.
Will provide accommodation facilities.
Will provide a monthly stipend for living expenses.
Will provide airfare for students to travel to their home country.
Will provide first aid and life insurance benefits.
Application Eligibility—
Must have leadership potential (those who have already made meaningful contributions to their home country);
Must be proficient in English.
Must have English language proficiency scores; TOEFL (IBT) score 100, TOEFL (PBT) score 600, IELTS 7, PTE Academic 68, and DET score 120.
Must have the ability and inclination to positively shape the future of their community.
Must be committed to leading a cause in their community or country.
Must have the mindset to return to their home country at the end of the program and work long-term based on advanced training and skills.
