Job Title: Web Developer – Back End
Job Responsibilities
- Design, code, test, and implement according to software design specifications following standard coding styles and practices.
- Analyze customer requirements and understand the deliverable.
- Develop software solutions by studying information needs, systems flow, data usage, and work processes.
- Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle – concept, design, build, deploy, test, release to live, and support.
- Document and demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments, and clear code.
- Participate in code and design reviews after investigating current software development projects.
- Seek out new technologies and ideas that add value to projects.
- Collaborate with team members and ensure knowledge transfer.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Computer Science and Engineering or related fields.
Experience Requirements
- 4-5 years of experience in developing web applications.
Skill Requirements
- Good problem-solving capability with sound knowledge of basic algorithms & data structures.
- Solid foundation of Object-Oriented Programming and Object-Oriented Design, preferably in Java, is a must.
- Experience with popular web API technologies (e.g. SOAP, REST, etc.)
- Knowledge of any web MVC framework, preferably Spring/Spring Boot.
- Working experience in one or more of the RDBMSs: Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, etc.
- Knowledge of any popular ORM in the candidate’s platform, preferably Hibernate or EclipseLink.
- Knowledge of any enterprise container like Tomcat, Weblogic, Wildfly, etc. is a plus.
- Being handy with either or both Maven and Gradle is also a plus.
- Knowledge of indexing and full-text searching with Elasticsearch or others is a plus.
- Handy with Git or Subversion VCS.
- Basic knowledge of the Linux/UNIX shell, networking, virtualization (Docker), and CI/CD are all highly sought after.
- Multitasking capability to meet hard deadlines.
