Position: Draftsman
Job Summary:
The Draftsman plays a crucial role in the construction process by creating detailed technical drawings and plans that serve as the basis for building construction. Working closely with architects, engineers, and other professionals, the Draftsman translates design concepts into precise and accurate drawings that guide construction activities.
Key Responsibilities:
01. Drafting and Design: Create detailed architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, or plumbing drawings based on sketches, specifications, and instructions provided by architects, engineers, or designers.
02. CAD Software Proficiency: Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as AutoCAD or Revit, to produce 2D and 3D drawings, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and adherence to industry standards and project requirements.
03. Blueprint Interpretation: Interpret and translate architectural and engineering blueprints, plans, and specifications into technical drawings, elevations, sections, details, and schedules for construction purposes.
04. Drafting Standards: Follow established drafting standards, protocols, and procedures to ensure consistency, efficiency, and compliance with regulatory requirements and company guidelines.
05. Coordination with Project Teams: Collaborate with architects, engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to review drawings, resolve design conflicts, and incorporate design changes or revisions as needed throughout the project lifecycle.
06. Quantity Takeoffs: Assist in performing quantity takeoffs and material calculations based on drawings and specifications to support cost estimation, procurement, and construction scheduling activities.
07. Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of drawings, revisions, markups, and correspondence related to project documentation, ensuring version control and accessibility for project team members.

10. Training and Development: Stay updated on the latest CAD software tools, techniques, and industry trends through training, professional development opportunities, and self-directed learning to enhance skills and proficiency in drafting practices.
Adequate knowledge of building codes, regulations, and construction industry standards related to drafting and documentation.
Qualifications:
01. Diploma degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field. Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
03. 3-5 years of experience in drafting, preferably in the construction or architectural industry.
04. Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as AutoCAD, Revit
05. Knowledge of drafting standards, symbols, and conventions used in architectural, structural, mechanical, or electrical drawings.
