Position: Structural Engineer
Job Description:
The Structural Engineer in a construction company is responsible for designing, analyzing, and ensuring the structural integrity and stability of building and infrastructure projects. This role involves collaborating with architects, civil engineers, and construction teams to develop structural designs, drawings, and specifications that meet project requirements, safety standards, and regulatory codes.
Key Responsibilities:
01. Structural Design and Analysis:
Design and analyze structural systems, components, and elements, including beams, columns, slabs, foundations, and retaining walls, using engineering principles and software tools.
Perform structural calculations, simulations, and modeling to determine load capacities, stresses, and deflections under various loading conditions.
02. Structural Drawing and Detailing:
Prepare detailed structural drawings, plans, and specifications for construction projects, including layout, reinforcement, and connection details.
Coordinate structural design drawings with architectural and MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) plans to ensure integration and compatibility of building systems.
03. Code Compliance and Standards:
Ensure compliance with building codes, zoning regulations, and industry standards governing structural design and construction practices.
Stay updated on changes to structural engineering codes and standards and incorporate updates into project designs and documentation.
04. Material Selection and Specification:
Select appropriate construction materials, finishes, and systems for structural components based on project requirements, performance criteria, and budget considerations.
Prepare material specifications, schedules, and procurement requirements for structural elements, including concrete, steel, masonry, and timber.
05. Structural Coordination and Collaboration:
Collaborate with architects, civil engineers, MEP engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate structural designs with overall project requirements and objectives.
Participate in project meetings, design reviews, and coordination sessions to address technical issues, resolve conflicts, and ensure alignment of design intent.

Qualifications:
01. Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Structural Engineering, professional licensure (PE/SE) is preferred.
02. 5-8 years of experience in structural engineering, preferably in the construction industry.
03. Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., SAP2000, ETABS, STAAD.Pro) & (CAD) software.
04. Strong knowledge of structural engineering principles, building codes, and standards.
